Where Innovation Meets Purpose: Eco Glasera Showcases a Circular Future at the ASLIA Innovation Showcase

Eco Glasera joined innovators from across Kenya at the ASLIA Programme Innovation Showcase held at Strathmore Business School on June 12, 2026.
The event brought together entrepreneurs, development partners and industry stakeholders to exchange ideas and showcase innovative solutions, providing Eco Glasera with an opportunity to present its glass recycling initiative to British Council Global Chief Executive, Scott McDonald, and engage with other change makers working to address societal challenges.
For many people, an empty glass bottle is simply waste. For Eco Glasera, it represents possibility. That simple shift in perspective formed the basis of the enterprise’s participation in the showcase.
As partners and stakeholders moved through the exhibition space, Eco Glasera shared its vision of a circular economy where discarded glass is transformed into useful, sustainable products.
The showcase created an environment where ideas could travel beyond presentations and displays. Conversations emerged around sustainability, youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and the role communities can play in building a greener future. For Eco Glasera, these interactions provided a chance to learn from fellow innovators, exchange experiences, and explore how collaborative solutions can create lasting social and environmental impact.
A highlight of the event was the opportunity to showcase Eco Glasera’s innovation to Scott McDonald, Global Chief Executive of the British Council, who took keen interest in our innovation. The engagement reflected the growing interest in youth-led enterprises that are developing practical responses to local challenges while contributing to broader sustainable development goals.
Yet the significance of the day extended beyond any single meeting.
It reinforced a growing realization shared by many innovators at the event: meaningful change often begins with reimagining the ordinary. Whether through technology, social enterprise, or sustainable business models, each exhibitor demonstrated how innovation can emerge from everyday challenges and create opportunities for communities.
For Eco Glasera, that challenge is glass waste. By transforming discarded materials into valuable products, the enterprise is not only promoting responsible waste management but also contributing to conversations about resource efficiency, environmental stewardship, and the future of the circular economy in Kenya.
